This series was begun from a drawing that can be seen in the upper right hand corner of Adulation I, below. The shape of the torso draws attention to how those things we idolize, such as a youthful nubile figure, whether the actual body, or the statue of it, are idealized, even idolized, and will eventually go to ruin. This truth warns us; idolatry may be fleeting.
